I want to express my gratitude to every person who helped in the smallest and biggest ways! Each person's effort made the difference in the outcome of this historic event.  I could not have won this challenge without each one of my supporters.  I am honored and proud to be your next State District Judge.

Experience and Commitment to Community Drive
Suzanne H. Wooten’s Campaign for District Judge

Suzanne Wooten

Growing up as the daughter of a career senior officer of the United States Armed Forces, Suzanne Wooten understood the importance of service from an early age.  Suzanne’s legal career includes experience in family law, civil and commercial litigation, and criminal law.  Over the years, her private law practice has had a concentration in alternative dispute resolution - a process which helps families settle their differences with as little emotional and financial hardship as possible.  These experiences have deepened Suzanne’s belief in the value of public service and have compelled her to offer herself as a Republican candidate for the 380th Judicial District Court of Collin County.

A career trial attorney and lifelong Republican, Suzanne graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Communications, and received her degree of Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio.  She has actively participated in several local Republican campaigns.  As a 12-year resident and small business owner in Collin County with her Husband, Wes, and their three children, Suzanne stands firm in her belief that the Court should serve the interests of justice. While justice should never be delayed, Suzanne believes it should neither be arbitrarily rushed.   Her experience has shown her that people should be given a fair opportunity to settle their cases without court intervention, if possible.  Or, if court intervention is necessary, that the parties should be allotted sufficient time to gather and present all relevant testimony and evidence for their case at trial.  Her certification from SMU as a mediator serves to guide her principled beliefs that disputes, particularly those involving children, should not be hurried just to preserve a speedy record of clearing the Court’s docket.  Applying the law fairly should be a guarantee to every citizen before the Court.

Wooten FamilyIn Suzanne’s own words, “I have been a contributing member of the Collin County community for over a decade and I am passionate about public service.  I deeply believe that the Court for which I am running needs a change.  I would be honored to be supported by my fellow residents in this endeavor.”

Suzanne is a member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas, a member of the State Bar’s Family Law section, and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.  She is a member of the Collin County Bar Association and the Association’s Family Law Section.  She is a Life Fellow of the Collin County Bench Bar Foundation and a Charter Member of the Collin County Young Lawyers Association.  Suzanne is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas.
